Facial bling speaks self care and self pride while loudly expressing your unique fashion and style. There are two types of nose adornments, the septum piercing for under the nose and the nose stud or hoop for wrapping around one (or both) sides of the nostril.
Piercing Tips
Did you know that the nose is the fastest healing piercing you can get? For this reason, nose rings can also close up and leave no scarring once the jewellery is removed so it's important to keep your jewellery fitted if you don't want to lose your piercing.
Nose piercings are performed using either an 18g or 20g gauge with 20g being the skinniest post. Typically piercers will use the most common "L Bend" for the starter piercing (also called a twist nose stud) however some find they prefer the hoop style for both appearances and a more sturdy lock and fit. Once fully healed you can switch between styles as desired. As with all piercings, good hygiene is important for fast healing and limiting infection.
Sizing Tips
When selecting nostril hoop sizes, while everyone's anatomy can vary, typically a 6mm will provide a snug fit, an 8mm will provide a form fit, and a 10mm will leave some spacing around the jewellery. The best way to establish your size is by measuring a piece you already own or by asking your body piercer.
Studs only come in the one size, a 6mm length with an L Bend to hold it in place firmly.
Septum hoops are typically either an 8mm or 10mm depending on the location of your piercing and your facial anatomy.
